Using Your SFMNP Benefits at the Piqua Community Farmers Market:

Step 1 - Take a look around the market to see what you would like to purchase.  You may use your card to purchase fruits, vegetables, fresh herbs, and honey.

Step 2 - Bring your SFMNP Card or Phone App to the information booth (located under the trees next to the statue).   You will be asked how much money you would like to use, and you will scan the QR code on your card or in your phone app.  Your purchase will need to be in whole dollars.  When the transaction is authorized, you will be given paper ‘tokens’ to purchase the items you would like to buy.  Qualifying seniors get $50 annually.

Step 3 - Take the token to the Market Vendor and purchase the items you would like.  The paper tokens can be used like regular money, and they will expire at the end of the market season.  Cash change will not be given by the vendors. If you have any questions, please stop by the Piqua Farmers Market information booth. Vendors that have items that are eligible to be purchased with SFMNP benefits will have a sign in their booth.

From Produce Perks Midwest:

We’re reaching out to share important updates about the Produce Perks SNAP Matching Program for the 2026 season. The Produce Perks program will be paused in some regions of Ohio in 2026. This will include your market - Piqua Community Farmers Market - beginning April 1, 2026. PPM has multiple pending grant applications, and we are unsure how long this pause will extend. However, we want to ensure you are informed and prepared for what’s ahead in April 2026.

We appreciate your partnership and commitment to Ohio families and farmers in offering the Produce Perks program....

Produce Perks Program Pause:

Produce Perks SNAP Matching will pause in your region starting April 1, 2026, due to funding gaps after the unexpected termination of a major grant. This is a temporary pause, not a shutdown.

Tokens: Shoppers should spend all green tokens by March 31st, 2026. No tokens may be issued or redeemed on or after April 1, 2026. We will not be able to reimburse you for tokens redeemed on or after April 1, 2026....

Program Re-Start:

When we receive funding to re-start the program in your region, we will email you.

WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is a dual-purpose program that benefits both WIC participants and farmers.

The Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is a coupon program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. The FMNP is supplementary to the WIC Program, which provides nutrition education and nutritious foods to pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to 5 years old. The FMNP operates annually June-October and provides coupons to WIC participants to purchase fresh, locally-grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from farmers, farmers’ markets, and farm stands.

Contact your WIC administrator to get coupons to use at the Piqua Farmers Market.  Vendors that have items that are eligible to be purchased with WIC benefits will have a sign at their booth.
